Trustee Training
Build a Better Board
When trustees understand their roles and responsibilities, especially with respect to advocacy, fundraising, facilities, and planning, they can work effectively to fulfill the library's mission and raise its profile in the community.
We provide customized training programs that enable boards to come to consensus on key issues. The Ivy Library consulting team has facilitated numerous workshops and retreats that focus on leadership and advocacy, board recruitment strategies, resource development, facilities expansion and enhancement, and long–range planning. The consulting team also collaborates with libraries to forge productive relationships among staff, administration, board members, and Friends groups.
Working with librarians, we can assess board effectiveness and provide consulting and resources to upgrade skill sets and reposition Boards as they seek to raise funds, become more effective advocates, and otherwise better support critical library functions.
