Community Assessments
Effective Long-Range Planning
Ivy Library consultants have collaborated with dozens of public libraries to design a community assessment process that generates reliable, actionable information. Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research tools (in-depth interviews, focus groups, telephone and online surveys), the consulting team provides library boards and staff with an understanding of perceptions of the library and its services, unmet community needs, and the level of support for increased funding and expanded facilities, programs, services and collections.
Special and Academic Libraries Have Stakeholders Too!
When opinions are solicited and thoughtfully integrated with best practices, trends research, technology and customer service considerations, libraries emerge with strategies that are forward-thinking and proactive. The Ivy Group acts as a neutral third party, bringing diverse interests and agendas to the table and mediating a thoughtful course for the future.
Planning Is An Investment in the Library's Future.
These are difficult times for libraries—more is demanded with fewer resources. Call us and tell us your story. We'll advise you on a process that responds to your particular needs and situations. (Do not assume that your library cannot afford professional assistance! We also provide suggestions for alternative funding sources.)
