American Library Association

Ivy Library conducted telephone interviews with reference librarians whose libraries had received copies of the Medicare & You Resource Kit, a collaborative community education initiative of The Association of Specialized Cooperative Agencies, the Reference and User Services Association, and the Health Care Financing Administration.

The goal of the research was to determine whether the distribution of the kit increased the ability of librarians to answer questions related to Medicare and to identify techniques for making future editions of the kit even more valuable to librarians and the patrons they serve. Ivy Library completed a second study for RUSA, a division of ALA with reference librarians to measure their level of awareness of RUSA and its programs and services and to identify best strategies for increasing the size of the RUSA membership base.
